In between the main dining area and the dancefloor, guests passed through an orange dreamscape of whimsical custom cakes and desserts, giving another unexpected layer to the client experience. Alex and her mom carefully curated three themed menus for dinner: an Italian menu to reflect family roots, a Southern menu to provide a taste of Savannah, and a coastal menu as a nod to the beloved home of the bride’s parents. They then were delighted to find their names calligraphed on individual oranges with a burst of florals nestled into each – a twist on traditional place cards. After being entertained by Savannah’s best celebrity impersonators during cocktail hour, guests found their seats with hand-painted Talavera tiles. The orange Talavera invitation suite, day-of paper products, and signage matched a custom-made Talavera dance floor and tent fabrics. Commissioned save-the-dates set the tone for the February event, with whimsical watercolors capturing the iconic Savannah riverfront views that guests would enjoy at the reception. ![]() She then changed into a red, bespoke show-stopper gown for dancing. First, a custom wedding dress with a subtle peplum and dramatic feather collar, a project on which she was thrilled to collaborate with designer Lourdes Chavez. Izzy + Co seamlessly captured the joyful spirit of the day in her visual narrative of the Lowcountry setting, the vivacious designs and all the sweet nothings in between. The bride stunned in a custom periwinkle wedding gown with an ostrich feather halter neck that’s giving us some serious Keira Knightley à la Love Actually vibes. But Harvey Designs didn’t stop at the dyed textural base – the table arrangements were imbued with vivid roses, allium and sweet pea to boot! Don’t even get us started on the tall centerpieces at the round tables, which tower with glimmering metallic dyed fronds to echo the actual Palmetto palms surrounding the Savannah River adjacent reception. Nothing could have prepared us for the level of fabulousness this orange purple wedding has brought to the table…literally! Tara Skinner Events interpreted the jubliant soul of the event through a daring palette of secondary colors, weaving baby’s breath dyed in lavender hues across an orange ikat table linen bedecked with glass pearl-studded dinnerware and calligraphed oranges acting as place cards.
